Realistically how long does a UK Sterling cheque take to clear. Cheque has been sent to the Foreign Cheque collections department. The value is > 2,000 pounds

    Hi cpbobo,

    Thanks for your message.

Foreign cheques are sent back to the issuing back for clearing and the process takes a minimum of four weeks.

    Thanks
    Tara

Is it always the case that it is a minimum of 4 weeks or can they clear sooner?

    Hi cpbobo,

Foreign cheque clearance is done on a case by case basis. So it may clear before the 4 week time frame but we can not guarantee this as we are reliant on the issuing bank for a response.

    Thanks Darren.
