Could someone give me an ID on these hammies please.
I'm going to look at them this weekend.

The mother is the last one.

    TIA

Looks like Campbell Dwarf type hamsters. Cute little creatures but very fast. A better pet for adults rather then children.

They look more like Winter Whites to me. Love them!

    Thanks for the suggestions.

How easy is it to sex them?
    The owners not sure.
Had a litter and she must have gotten pregnant again very soon again.

Campbells are the most common type of Hamster sold here. The top picture are not white hamsters & Campbells come in a a variety of colours. Myself & my sister bred Hamsters for years. Lots of dwarfs here are also just mixed type dwarfs.

If you take some make sure they are the same sex & feed a sugar free food to them. Diabetes is very common in Dwarfs.

Fairly easy if you google it. Females have a much more rounded bum end. Males are tapered. As the owner to show you the adult male & female so you can compare.

    Good idea,..never thought of that!

I've been reading up on them and have sugar free feed...saw a thread a while back on it.

I converted an IKEA kallax bookcase ...cost me a small fortune:D

Oh that sounds nice. You should post a pic when you have it all set up

    Will do.
Was in maxizoo getting some bits. The guys there thought roberovski or russian!

    Would I get away with leaving them for 3 nights with food and water?;;

They have a dorsal stripe so they're not Robos.

I think they might be Djungarian (ie Russian), not Campbell's

Yes, they're not big water drinkers (unless they're diabetic), and if you stockpile a little veg and dried food, they'll be fine for a few days on their own. Expect grumpy faces when you return though.

    Thanks for the help guys.
I picked up 2 females this evening and they are happily exploring their new home. They were all in individual cages :)

The couple who have them have about 20 to get rid of, so if you're looking for more PM me and I'll pass on the details.
    They are in Dun Laoighaire.

The female had a a litter and was left in with the male for 2 days afterwards resulting in another lot which will be ready to rehome in a few weeks.
To give them credit they've said they turned down a lot of young lads who wanted them for reasons...I'll leave it to your imagination.

On closer inspection they don't look like Winter Whites after all. :D They are lovely OP. Well done on giving them such a thoughtful home with lots of enrichment! Set up is cool.

    Thanks.
They have settled in but won't use the ladder to move between floors. :(....don't they realise how much this cost me?
There is of course an alternative.... http://covertorbit.tripod.com/modern_recipes.htm. :D

They are just getting settled in. Give them a few days to get used to their new surroundings and they will start to explore when they are more confident of their surroundings.
