Hi,
On this site: http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/reliefs/htb/index.html
they refund you the Income Tax and Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT) paid over the last 4 years if you buy a new home.
1. If I gained no interests during the last 4 years (because I have no savings accounts), it's useless to apply to this?
2. They say I can only apply if my contractor is a Revenue approved qualifying contractor. How do I know what is my Contractor?
Thanks

Not state benefits but accommodation and property forum. There's a thread they're on the scheme. The contractor is the developer of the new build development that you would be buying a house from. They have to be registered in order to qualify for refund of the tax you paid in the last four years.
