I think it's wonderful that not a mention of Leo V being gay is great.
I am married with 2 kids and believe in Live and Let Live
    A Gay PM !
This really is a great little country (If it had a roof !)
    Nice ...

If Catholic Ireland is so gone, why has he taken Leo the Fifth as his Pope name then, eh? Eh?

We really need to get over what a great little country we are for not being interested in other people's bedroom gymnastics.
How long is it since the SSM?
    Just let it go.
We had a whole load of money about 15 years ago and nobody thought to build a few houses for people who aren't in the way of housing themselves.
Our health system is a basket case.
These are important things that we won't/can't fix.
We're not really a great little country at all.

Are you on a mission OP to see how many anti Catholic threads you can open in a short period of time?
Or is it how many current affairs issues you can link to RCC?

Well the last 2 threads you've started are Catholic bashers, are they not?
    2 in 24 hours?

I think even making an issue of his sexual orientation shows you are not liberal or open minded at all. I couldn't care less if he is gay or not, if he does a good job.

Of course he won't be PM unless he runs in the U.K.

I believe he's going for Taoiseach, maybe that's what you meant ?

A big call on the if there. So far all he's done is push himself in front of others. Never really seems to take anything on or do anything. How is he meant to be a leader?

    It's no longer pronounced Ireland.

    It's pronounced AAAAAIiiir- ah.

Or, if you like, Suhvvehn Aaahhhland.

They didn't say the word but used other things like a new Taoiseach for a new era and such, Simon Coveney seems to be doomed regardless as he's been labelled boring but sure it shouldn't matter in any case i think the new Taoiseach should be voted on by the people not the party

Half the population are attracted to males, half are attracted to females. Being attracted to males and/or females isn't an achievement, so who cares?

I'm more concerned that whoever the next T. is, doesn't screw the electorate (taxpaying members of the electorate more specifically).

There are so many people who don't mind homosexuality so long as "it" is not shoved in their face or rammed down their throats.

Of course, they mean they don't want to see or hear anything about it, but it's fun to see their real fear bleed through the "not homophobic, but" lines.

I think you could have used a better choice of words there.

I'm curious how you would feel about a straight head of state going about the place mackin' on the bitches. That OK if they're straight?
Surely any authority figure (or any adult) shoving their sexual preferences (no matter what they are) in your face is not ideal.

True, rammed is very aggressive. Coaxed or eased would be a friendlier substitute.

I think my choice of words was very deliberate. I didn't think I was being subtle.

Probably true- perhaps the homophobes would find that language easier to swallow.
