Hi, I have a Dacia Duster 142 4wd and need to get roof bars, I got a crazy quote from Halfords, as they can only supply Thule bars. I went on Micksgarage and they are very reasonably priced, so I'm going to go with them, when i put the reg in, it gives me 2 options, side rails with Duster stamped and raised rails, mine does not have the duster stamped, but the side rails option is saying 2010 - 2013.

has anyone any experience in this area, is there a difference between the stamped rails and the unstamped rails. Also is there any where else I could source bars please, I'm also looking for a roof box

Would a dacia duster cope with a roof box?

In some markets they got massive deep rails with Duster written on them. I don't think these are what we got in Ireland.

The normal rails are much thinner and seem to allow fitting of generic universal cross bars.

see that's where i'm getting confused, on micksgarage they list the bars 2014 stamped with duster, or raised rails 2010 to 2013, but my car is late 2014 the rails aren't stamped, so i'm wondering should i just order the 2010-2013 bars.

i've rang Micks garage but they are very vague on it, and halfords want 200+ for thule bars and a 3 week wait

Is yours one of the pre facelift ones? Built in India rather than Romania?

The Thule ones are the same as the Dacia ones by the way. They're rebranded Thule.

You don't need anything special if you haven't got the thick bars. Most universal ones will fit.

I don't actually know to be honest, I know the windows are from india. there is a sticker on them. garage said that it was made in Romania, but they could have been just saying that.

Just checked they are square bars, when you say thick do you mean deep with duster stamped on them

They're a Romanian brand, but the earlier ones were made in India. The newer ones have a different grille and dark front headlights.

I'd be 99% sure these are what you need.

Yes, the rails themselves are much bigger, taller, so it's hard to get cross bars that will clamp around them. The micksgarage ones look much better than the Dacia/Thule ones that only use rubber straps to clamp around the bars as opposed to clamping onto them.

I linked a pic of the "DUSTER" ones earlier in the thread, you can see how different they are to yours.

From doing a quick google it seems the €30 Lidl ones fit. Not sure if they're doing them this year, they did in March '16. (Edit, they were in in Feb this year too)

I bought ones to fit a Nissan navara years ago and fit anything with raised bars as they adjust.
