Can Joey Barton not just play in a different league/move to China?

FA banned him from all football activity. Does that say include the Chinese League or even the leagues in Ireland? How does it work?

I think the leagues have an agreement to honour each others suspensions. They definitely do in the case of normal (e.g., 3 games for a straight red card) suspensions, if you move league you sit out the 3 games there.
Barton himself being an example ironically when he got suspended in England for violent conduct with QPR and served it in France.

Yeah but I wonder if China, the MLS, Brazil, India or Australia are any different or even smaller but credible leagues like in Thailand/Malaysia. I'm guessing probably not but hadn't heard it discussed.

I thought at the time the French FA had just agreed to impose the ban after a request from the English FA but it appears it is a FIFA directive and the player won't receive clearance to play unless the ban is served
