Nct and logbook

    hi I have my nct booked for the morning but cant find the logbook anywhere.... I have all the old nct paperwork for the vehicle will that do?

    No the previous NCT cert is not sufficient if asked for the logbook. However depends who you meet at the counter, you may not be asked for it. Even if you are asked and don't have it they will still test the car but will not give you the pass cert until you come back with the logbook. Chances of being asked for it are low so play it by ear.

    I've never been asked for a log book or the previous cert. All you need is a drivers licence.

    Will the car have valid nct if tested, but no cert?

    No, you need the logbook. Read the NCT FAQ.
    But some places don't bother asking for it.

    If they do and OP hasn't got it with him the centre will still test the car, but not hand over the cert.
