My next watch will most likely be an ocean one premium.

Ya , I have an Ocean one black cermic and love it, but I'm always drawn to the premium in blue, one day i'll probably buy it.

I just ordered a Steinhart ocean one vintage red.

I went with this as its less like the current Rolex models and it doesn't have the cyclops. The OVM doesn't have any date which i like on a watch. Its the only complication i do want on a new watch.

Hoping to have it in a week or so.

Are they generally quick enough to deliver? I may have accidentally/impulsively/'tipsily' made a purchase the other day as well...

The Aviation. It was an 'ah, f*ck it' moment :pac: I like the look of it, it's different and I've not heard too many negatives about Steinhart, so I'm expecting it'll be decent enough.

Only concern I have is the size - though I'm hopeful that at worst it'll sit grand on the right wrist which is slightly bigger than the left*. If not, I'll lob it up on Adverts.

*(I'm a lefty, get your minds out of the gutter)

Is that the square one? It really is massive. I had one for a while.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,317 ✭✭✭Frankie5Angels

Yep, that's the one. Aww Christ. You live and learn, I guess!

Hey, that's not necessarily a bad thing! It's just not something that'd fit under most shirt cuffs.

Ha, my mistake - I took you to mean in a bad way! I had intended it for more casual wear anyway. Here's hoping! :P

Nah, didn't mean it like that! It's just a big chunky watch is all. Absolutely couldn't fault the quality - lovely smooth winding on it. Hope you like it!

Would you mind letting me know how your order progresses, actually? I'm curious to see, since we both ordered about the same time, which gets in first.

My order has been processing since yesterday.

I added a strap and buckle so it might take a little longer.

Mine just turned to 'shipped' today (ordered late Friday night). They have Monday as the delivery date, no idea if that's just the latest it'll be delivered or if it's accurate.

Mine took 5 days to get to Dublin so Monday is pretty accurate. Has to be shipped through Frankfurt and then to the UK. After that its shipped to Dublin for delivery.

No delivery today. Tracking shows it's still in Standstead UK. It's been there since Saturday night.

    Steinhart == Great customer service

5 years ago, in the middle of a house move, I ordered a couple of spare bezels for an Apollon Chronograph.

I came across the bezels last week, and discovered they fit, but don't mount ... possibly due to mismatched threads.

So, in my innocence, I fired off an email to Steinhart, asking if I could buy new mounting screws for the bezel. They asked me to send pics of the bezels, and they decided to replace them both ... FOC ... after 5 years.

That's great service, and I'm chuffed with the results:

Never even crossed my mind there'd be an app for that. Any decent ones on iPhone? (looks like android there, to me at least)

There is an app for iPhone called Twixt if you are looking for one.

There's this one, but it's a tenner. I have it, but didn't think I paid that much

It's reminded me to do a snap of my planet ocean. I'll see how it's doing this time tomorrow.

I can't remember the last time I paid for an app - this'll have to be considered carefully! :pac:
