Periodic showers dampened spirits a bit (heh) but nevertheless this was a cool show and made for a nice day out. If you're a regular to a lot of Leinster shows you'll know that there are many cars that tend to show time and time again, but it was refreshing to see a lot of "new" metal here today.

The indoor/outdoor displays made for a nice and commodious air unlike the likes of the RDS and Swords shows which can get a bit cramped. The autojumble however poor (but extensive) - lots of t-shirts and reproduction wall signs.

I took a few pics, they aren't great and a lot of interesting cars had left by the time I had gotten my camera out, but nevertheless..enjoy.

I didn't want to go clogging up the spotted thread, so without further ado..

This looked super fresh. The old plates just look so out of place! Likewise the Xr2i looked fantastic.

I loved this. For a car so popular in its day I don't see many at shows

These were fantastic. Particularly the Kirt. I'd say it has a very interesting past

Great pics. Thanks for posting them! :)

Incidentially, why do you not like the plates on the Sierra?
    They are correct period-style plates..

Ah no, I love the plates. Theres nothing I dislike more than the usual black pressed metal €20 motor factors jobbies you see on so many classics these days!

What I should have said is, the Sierra looks far too modern for the old style number!

The Sierra could be launched today and still looks fresh enough. But some didn't take to it in 1982 after eveyone grew so used to the cortina.

Sign of a classic bit of design I think?

The 1913 KRIT was originally owned by Henry Maxwell Smyth, a civil engineer from Killucan Co Westmeath.
He also once held the title of High Sherriff of Westmeath!

    Wonderful photographs.

LZC250 was owned new by the owner of the Golden Orient restaurant on Leeson Street, Mike Butt.

    Thanks for that Kevin.

An interesting note on Mr Butt, in 1970 he founded the IRA (Irish Restaurant-Owners Association)...which was quickly renamed RAI (Restaurant-Owners Association of Ireland)..for obvious reasons!
