Protect Your Clubhead (Any advice)?

    Hi there,

I've typically had trouble with keeping the clubfaces and clubheads (sky marks) clean over the years. My last driver took a bit of a pounding over the years in that regard.

I bought myself a new driver recently and I'm conscious of keeping it in good nick. I know it's going to have wear and tear and all that but if I'm going to be hitting approximately 100 drives a week up in the driving range I'd like to consider ways to prevent damage on the range.

Does anyone know of any products or methods (outside of hitting it perfectly every time :D) where I can sort this out?

    Many thanks,
    E.

If any hackers ask for a slap of your shiny new driver insist they tee the ball low.

    Or just say no!!

I have had an RBZ s2 Tour from new for 5/6 years still in perfect nick, We rent clubs at the course I work a,t a guest said he needed xflex... I explained we had stiff only. He then spied my driver in the corner with a project x 6.5.... "hey can I rent this"
I said he could after explaining it was mine...... huge Mistake.... he crowned it 3 times.

Get yourself some good ghost tape.

I've seen guys put some black tape across the top of the club face to protect against those chips from the crown of the club

Seriously it's a golf club, it's gonna get scratched and dents. Accept it and move on.

The only thing more embarrassing than sky marks is putting tape or protective covers on a driver. Don't be one of those people.

The one that annoys me is the shaft wear from where it rests in the bag. No matter how "deluxe" the material is lining the dividers the shaft gets it after a while.

I used to put black insulating tape around the shafts at the point of contact with the dividers for this very reason. Until my pro at the time said it was unbalancing the clubs.
Don't know how much truth was in it tbh. At my level anyway.
