can i ask the question does anyone know what the hourly rate is when working in Lidil at the start? i heard that they do have good rates and it's easy enough to climb the ladder to get to management there.
    thanks

€11.50 is the starting rate of customer assistant role in a store, as far as I know

Do not be fooled about that climb the ladder myth.

Lidl do not promote managers from within, they recruit highly experienced supermarket managers and give them 4 stores to supervise, salary 70k & a silver Audi A4

At store level they dangle this manager carrot to staff to get them to work all the hours god sends, with the promise of a manager job "when one becomes available". Except it never does.

My wife started as a customer assistant and moved to deputy store manager, as have lots of people in Lidl. Their recruitment process for area managers is different, and they generally are not from within the store management function but are graduates or others with outside experience, but they definitely promote from within for deputy store managers, and then from deputy to store manager.

Go into work when rostered, do your bit, when it doesn't suit to do more hours, decline politely, certainly don't kill yourself when in work, but do work. Ignore the rat race, I.e. climbing the ladder nonsense etc, and most importantly, enjoy your working experience.

If you want to progress within the company get their name right! Sorry not trying to be smart. Its tough going for store management roles.

11.50, you don't get paid for break.

Moving on up use to be true but not so much anymore.

Find somewhere that does pay you for break and you'll have it alot easier for much the same money.

Just an FYI. If you're going for a job there, it's called Lidl, not lidil.

I found them a horrible company to work for. Constant issues with pay and store management not respecting my alotted hours/days off/breaks. Would advise against it.

Yea, you'd swear they have a monkey in an windowless dark office working out the payroll with an abacus with the amount of mistakes with pay. Everyone wrote down their own hours and then you've to wait a month to see would they fix any mistakes, they might or you might have to wait for the following month.

Depending on where you work you might be set targets, even when you'd hit them they'd come down and tell you you didn't and to work faster, harder, no talking.

I worked in HQ the absolute worst job I ever had. It took 3 months to get a P45 after I left
