Help buying my next estate

I'm looking at getting my next car and could do with help please as I feel I'm tunnel visioned .

I have spent last 12 months thinking about next car and decided I want a petrol estate .

I own a 2006 Citroen c4 1.4 petrol and family car is Citroen c4 grand Picasso 1.6 DSL

We have 3 kids/ 2 dogs (westies) and I drive about 1.5 miles to work everyday. Take my two dogs out in car every night to go to walk them and take my two older kids/dogs out to beach at weekends in my car.

We also do around 2 trips over to wales each year to family
So I really want something newer.

I have a around 10/12k to spend and I've looked at petrol estates as I feel a DSL would be a complete disaster .

The car I've set my mind on is a dacia Logan as boot is massive , a brand new one is in price range with 3 year warrenty.

I looked at a Skoda fabia 1.2 tsi but it seems smaller , more expensive and not worth the extra .

My intension is to keep for 7/10 years so depreciation doesn't really come into it.

Can somebody come up with other suggestions .thanks

Skoda Octavia estate, Opel Insignia estate, and Citroen C5 estate are all nice and worth a look.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Please don't buy a Dacia, I know they are cheap, but they are cheap for a reason. Not necessary unreliable as I've seen taxis with over 1 mil km, but they use cheap plastics and it's not very comfortable. I'm Romanian .. probably I'm sick of seeing them on the streets that much. Btw, they start at 7.000e over there.

Its funny in a way , my father in laws car gave up the ghost Sunday and my wife and her brother asked me to help them find a car asap for him .

    We found him a vw Passat estate , 2007 1.6 petrol .

We paid 2800 for it and it had 144km on it. Drives like new, looks pretty dam good as well .

Think I may have answered my own question . ;)

    I still didn't get anything .

I've spent last week in Wales looking around garages . Cars seem expensive enough to me .

I've seen a good few Vauxhall Astra estates over here. One garage suggested getting one through mobility scheme.

Anybody got any opinions on getting car through these?

Is there anybody in the family that allows you to use this scheme?
