New Phone - Colour Options?

    Hey all,

So I am looking for a new phone to replace the S8 that had to go back (porting issues with the provider and TBH I wasn't as blown away as I thought - if anything it felt too small coming from an S6 Edge+, Note 4 etc)

Not really wanting to spend €8/900 for the S8+ I've decided to go for either another S6E+ or the Note 5.. both of which can be gotten for €400ish on eBay now. I've ruled out the S7 Edge as I prefer the bigger screen/chassis.

The problem is deciding the colour... I've always had black phones, but I must admit the platinum gold on the above 2 is very nice in pictures!

So what would you go for...

Black S6 Edge+ (had this before):

    Platinum Gold S6 Edge+:

Help me spend my money! :D

Got a Gold phone because thats what was in stock. Added a black carbon fibre skin, combination is on point.

    Also, case = who cares.

That's true... could get the gold handset and if I don't like it after all, just put a different case on it..

I'm leaning towards an S6 Edge+again so.. I've never used the pens on the Notes I've had and the specs are pretty much identical otherwise. Curved screen vs pen.. hmm

Why you want to buy a 2-3 year old phone?

Because it's still perfectly usable today (from experience there's marginal differences in my real world usage between the S6E+ and S8 .. I'm not a phone gamer and prefer a laptop for most things), the physical size suits me better, and it's half the price of the newest model without needing to sign up to expensive long contracts :)

Ordered the Edge+ in platinum gold earlier (I've never used the pen on any of the Notes I've had), and as Ed E pointed out, if I decide I don't like the colour I can just get a case, and when the Note 7R pricing comes out I can upgrade again then if I like :)

I have a rose gold Note4 which looks lovely but I put a black cover on it, because it was the most robust I could afford, and I don't think the gold and black look nice. That said I honestly do not notice it at all anymore.

My one problem with the gold is that when I'm putting on and taking off my cover to change sd card etc the gold scratches off a little on the edge which does annoy me.

Infuture I'm just going to get a black phone I think, something that a little scratch is less obvious on that looks good in any cover.

    Already got one.

Am somewhat irked that it's unlikely to be an option in this country when the Note 8 comes round.
