The Box sets alone are worth the entertainment sub, I have kids too & movies but apparently you can add more boxes to my own account without extra cost?

You can have 4 boxes on 1 account. You can use just 2 boxes at any one time.

    Many thanks, truly great service.

Not when it's in SD only. For such market leaders, it's very surprising that Sky haven't upgraded Now TV to HD.

Are you sure ? Last time I checked, even the UK version wasn't in HD. My apologies if I'm wrong.

It's 720p, not full 1080i., according to Sky website.

Forcing you to buy the Now TV box in Ireland is a rip-off, you don't have to invest in Now h/w in the UK if you have an Apple TV which has a NowTV app icon.

Whereas in the UK and other markets (Italy & Germany) NowTV is a great value and convenient way to watch SKY only content on demand, here it just seems to be a cynical attempt to placate the anti-piracy lobby by making SKY only shows (i.e. Game of Thrones & the Walking Dead etc) available without contract whilst continuing to gouge the Oirish cash cow in the process by charging us more than anywhere else for the privilege. SKY rules ...

Wow 50 euro for a month's Sky Sports.

Think it works out about 40 with a UK login.

The NOW TV product isn't as good as the main competitors (Netflix mainly). No HD or UHD, you can only watch on a max of four devices and you can't download for offline content. In the UK, the pricing relative to Netflix reflects this so it's quite puzzling to see why they have priced the Irish market so differently. The quality of the content is obviously down to individual tastes but l don't think it's massively better overall than Netflix to justify the pricing premium. It'll be interesting to see how it evolves over time.

    Sports:
UK Weekly Pass: £10 (approx €12)
    Irish Weekly Pass: €15

Irish App: No Chromecast Support (aka buy our box to use this service even though it is compatible with your current box)
UK App: Chromecast support No longer supported.

Monthly pass at €50 for 720p is very expensive in my book. If this is an effort to encourage people away from IPTV, it won't work at those prices.

Last time I tried, the UK app worked for me on an Irish IP. It looks like that is over now.

If I could use Chromecast then maybe I would use this once or twice a year. I used it last Christmas for a weekly pass for the Sports (Chromecast was supported at that point) and it was ok, the quality seemed to vary from below par SD to pseudo HD. At no point did I think "wow, what a picture" (I have 450 Mbit connection btw).

I really do not want another box just for this. Currently managing to keep my STBs down to a raspberry Pi running a FTA PVR system + Chromecast for Netflix etc. I do have a Roku box in a cupboard somewhere, but I cannot even get his to run on that, even though their own box is in fact a Roku.
