    Hi.
Just like the title, which one of the above you guys would go for? Both cars 2008, Avensis on petrol from dealer, 80k miles, Mondeo on diesel from private, 168K miles. Both cars are in great condition inside and outside. Price would be more or less the same, with the Mondeo at most €200 cheaper.
What I'm looking for in a car is reliability and low running costs, most miles I'd be putting on the car is 10k miles p.a., mostly short runs.

    Thanks in advance.

As much as I hate the Avensis due to its blandness it wins hands down here. Only half the mileage. Petrol so less things to go wrong and you're only doing 10k a year so fuel costs are similar I imagine.

Agree with Blazer - with the mileage you do, and short runs, is be going for the petrol every time - plus the Avensis is probably the more reliable car.

Get the Avensis but make sure it's pre July as the emissions tax is high.

How did you arrive at a diesel Mondeo when you do such low annual mileage? With only doing 10k miles per year running costs should not really be a huge factor in your buying decision.

Thanks guys, I was inclined to get the Toyota as well, just wanted a second opinion (or more).
As for the Mondeo, somebody I know is selling it and willing to take my old car in exchange, which would save me the hassle of getting rid of it. And by running costs I really meant maintenance costs, as petrol or diesel would not make such a great difference for only 10k a year.
