One and one still is One.

    Class song. Crap Arithmetic.

A very influential track and such a young age to die RIP.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Will someone please think of Children.

RIP, it was and still is a class song.
Didn't he have a decent follow up too? One and One I think it was called. Very 90s sound.

One and One is a song that's somewhat special to me. Was very popular around the time my Granny was in hospital dying. Used to always play in the car on the way up to visit her in Roscommon General

They bizarrely kept their calculations in away in a drawer in their study and only revealed their work when they became jealous of the adulation that Miles was getting from the Royal Society.

I don't care much for synth stuff but Children had an undeniable musicality to it.

I have such strong childhood memories listening to 'Children' and 'One and One', such iconic 90s songs.

    RIP Robert Miles.

I always preferred One on One to Children. Miles was polished Europop at its best. Not my favourite artist by any means, but had a decent couple of hits.

    Only 47? Too young! RIP

Very sad to hear this this morning.

I absolutely loved "Children", it resonates a lot with me personally as it was a big hit around the time I started college and all that jazz. Brings back great memories. I still have it on my Spotify playlists, it's a timeless classic imo.

    RIP Robert.

Fable is another great tune, probably my favourite of his. RIP.

Sad to hear this. I've good memories of good places and youthful, carefree days attached to his Dreamland album.
Brilliant, exceptional album. Very fresh at the time is my recollection. Up there with all the Portishead and Radiohead albums in those same few years, 1995-1997. You could get lost in the chilled-out music of all three on an evening, especially if like me you had that repeat button on for ages at a time (Fade Out by Radiohead must have played in the background for a full 10 hours at one stage) The late 90s just don't feel like 20 years ago!

    rip.
robert did produce lots of music after his big 3 singles but i believe a lot of it was experimental stuff and i never followed it. children and to an extent fable earned their place in dance music royalty.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Think I may have bought the Album back in the day. 'Children', and 'One and One' were the stand out tracks.

    RIP.

Yes, but you have to remember that there was robust debate at that time on Principia Mathematicia (Russell and Whitehead) and the proof provided for 1+1=2. Not everyone was convinced by the over 360 page mathematical proof that was required to conclusively prove it out, with many seeking to chip at it and call out certain elements of the proof for challenge.

There are still people arguing as to why factorial 0 equals 1 (0!=1) (or in laymans terms that zero equals one) even though it has been proven.

I was only thinking of Robert Miles the other day when I found an old 128mb MP3 player with my old training tracks, classic stuff.

47, wow. In a funny way because he's from a different time in my life he was ageless. When I listen to his stuff I'm not 51 anymore!.

    May he rest in peace.

Fine looking man, some great tunes for that era. At 47, definitely far too young to die. RIP Mr Miles.

I'm sure DJs across the world will play 'Children' this weekend in honour of Robert.

'One and One' has been stuck in my head since yesterday and I don't mind one bit. :)
