    I've noticed high spikes on electric ireland PAYG monitor on days I have been away from home when nobody was in the house. what would cause these spikes?

    Have you any electricity appliances that are operated on a timer? If so, this might explain the spike in usage.

    You can download an app that may help you with calculating the approximate cost of particular appliances. You can find the web version of this app here.
