P45 Issue

Hi all.. I worked for 6 weeks or so from September to October 2016. I need my p45 from that employment but the company/accountant never registered me with the revenue office. Social welfare and my new job need a P45 but as I can't obtain it, what do I do? The revenue have no record of me working there and I've sent 5 letters to the welfare including letters from employer stating I was gone from the company and as I was on trial with them (which I didn't know) they didn't register me. Is there any way I can obtain this?? Any advice appreciated!

For a start, get new employers tax reference number, ring Revenue and ask them to assign your tax credits to that employer.

Thanks for your reply. If I did that would I be able to get my p45 from previous employer even though I'm not registered from that job??

You won't need it. You finished in 2016. It is their problem, unless you have been short changed in your wages for 2016. If that is the case then give it a month or so and ask Revenue for a P21 and give the name of your previous employer. They should well have their P30's and P35 returns done.

I'm short in my social welfare payment. They cut me off by €60/70 a week due to the little job. And won't reinstate my payment until I get the p45! This is going on since October... my head is fried..

I thought you said you were working?

Are you on X's and O's is it?

I started a new job last Tue. Part time.. I get a disability payment. So I can work 19.5 hours a week. I was working in September until October 2016... then nothing until last week.. but I've been waiting since October for my p45 but it turns out the employer didnt register me with the tax office.. so welfare won't put me back on my full payment until they get the p45.
