Sell used alloys

Is there somewhere that'll buy alloy wheels? I've and old set of 17" BMW alloys from a 5 series that are taking up space... I sold the car over a year ago.

Have the ad up in DoneDeal but no takers. Wouldn't mind just selling it to a business or shop and reclaiming some space in the house!

Try adverts.ie but be prepared for low ball offers. Unless they're in mint condition with good tyres and a sought after wheel model then no business is going to buy them. As 95% of cars come with alloys as standard these days then the market for used factory alloys is very very small.

If your having trouble selling them then so will a business. Some places might take them in part exchange against a new set but very few are just going to buy them for cash.

You might have better luck selling them towards the end of the year when some BMW owners might be looking for a cheap set of rims to stick their winter tyres on.

Yup was thinking that too but was busy in work and by the time I remembered to put the ad up it was nearly December. Have to wait for the next winter to roll around now

I think I sold mine on adverts. The guy who bought them bought and sold wheels. He just had a courier collect them.
Oddly enough I can't seem to find the ad now though. They weren't anything special, just standard VW wheels I had upgraded from.

Stick them up on adverts too and see if you get takers.
There are a lot of alloys out there so don't get your hopes up too much.

Alloys are very common now so are worth very little second hand.
Im finding that i can buy alloys with good tyres way cheaper than buying replacement tyres.
150 quid for 4 alloys for an a4 with nearly new goodyears on them 205 60 16.

You will have to let them go very cheap to sell them

A lot of people think old tyres are an nct failure

Breakers will buy alloys but don't expect any real monies for them then.

This thread allows for car parts for sale, read the rules before posting.
