    Help me sell my bangernomics

Hi all. Bought a van and need to sell my runabout. Looking for advice on advert and asking price please. I'll give all the details of the car and post a few pics. I'd be grateful for your advice on how to list the ad and what to include. Haven't sold anything on Donedeal before, so your advice is valuable. Of course if the mods feel I should move it to it's own thread that's grand.

    99 Toyota Avensis Luna.
    1.6 4a-fe petrol.
    Dark blue metallic.
    249060 miles.
Nct due 11/08/2017 - 243337 miles at last NCT.
Cills repaired for the NCT last August.
    Tax out since 02-17.
    Electric front windows
    Electric mirrors.
    Central locking with 3 keys.
Service book (13 stamps to 118k miles).
    Owners manual.
    Toyota touch up tape.
    Air Conditioning.
    Toyota alloy wheels.
Radio with 6 disc CD changer (radio working, CD changer not - mechanism works, but error on display).
    Front wind deflectors.
    4 pretty new tyres. 2 @ 235k miles, 2 at 243k+ miles.
Rear brakes done before last NCT = New cylinders, New shoes, shoe fitting kit, Rear right handbrake cable, Two copper brake pipes.
    4 previous owners.
Last two owners known to current owner. Really well serviced and cared for by them.

Friend had an identical car but with less than half the mileage. Got €450 for it last year IIRC.

Worth very little in current form. Put it through the NCT and you should get 400-500.

Thanks guys. What will I ask for and what should I accept.

    Ask €499, accept anything.

Nice car with a lot of maintenance done in fairness.

€250-300 with a test, with insurance the way it is that sadly is its value.

A fresh NCT will make it appealing to a degree, insurance on cars over 15 years is a problem, especially for new quotes on the car, renewals are in general ok. Back a few years it would have been in big demand from people wanting a cheap runaround, unfortunately people buying them up, insuring them and then deliberately crashing for a claim puts insurers off them.

Yeah sadly that's the reality I suppose.

Someone told me to raffle it on the lotto numbers for a tenner a skull. I'd be afraid some young lad would get it.

Sure might as well stick it up for 500 or so and see what happens. Be sad to see a perfectly good car being scrapped!

There's a lot of it about. But sure so long as the car companies, the greens, and the unsurance cartel are happy. That's what matters.

Very true. Some real nice older cars going off tge road too early.

Mention it's a cheap way of getting the €4K scrappage if anyone is thinking of buying a new car!

Good point. Wasn't there a rule where you have to own the car for so long before you can avail of scrappage?

If you got NCT for it I thought it would be in demand? How much do you think is needed to get a pass?

Won't get a call at that price. It will only sell for its money, remember you that time selling ur celica how many price drops did you take on it before you got a bite.

    Few suggestions:
    1. Fix the sensors and get the NCT. Otherwise it's not Bangernomics, it's a Fixer-up (and should be in Breaking/Repairables in Donedeal)
    2. Lose the ALL CAPS THAT ARE SHOUTY AND OFFPUTTING
    3. Don't thread-jack someone elses thread, start your own and you'll get specific advice there.
