I had the same symptoms and it turned out to be a faulty BBU card. Meaning the 3 modems they had sent out previously and are now sitting in the press were fine. I'd get them to send out a senior technician if you can, not one of the KN guys. They don't have the right equipment.

Do you mean an LT card? A BBU would only protect you from power cuts (unless you're talking about a cellular BBU...).

Jumping to the least likely scenario is probably poor troubleshooting.
    A. Copper issues
    B. CPE issues (the F2000 costs them about E4.00)
    C. MSAN issues (E10k+ worth of kit)

    @Dcully:
Here is a list of options to start you off, compatibility can be a bit tricky with the hardware in use.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057632871

    Steps:
    1. Make sure its not a basic wifi issue
    2. Make sure its not a copper issue (post your line stats from the F2000)
    3. Replace the unit

I meant to say the last few days two guys have been working on our cabinet, i thought it was that but a friend on the same cabinet has no issues, my line stats have always s been excellent

Dont rule out cab side issues entirely. Sloppy jumpering or an issue on a single card (as mentioned above) could impact you and Ms. Bloggs down the road but nobody in between as ports are assigned when you order not geographically.

I uncorrectly meant baseband unit but ultimately I did mean line card!

Rang eir this morning and explained, they came back a few mins later and said they "flushed the system of errors" has been fine since, too early to proclaim success?

Just to follow up on this, 10 days on and still no resolution, countless calls to support, engineers called to house and proved nothing my end and work that was carried out at cabinet cased faults.
Engineers confirm faults at cabinet but yet haven't fixed it yet.

The net result is connection is dropping anything from 4 times an hour to going 8 hours without a single drop.

eir were quick enough to take money for my bill this morning, meanwhile I'm stuck with a crap service, tech support have been absolutely useless, 10 days now and counting :mad::mad::mad:

Just got off the phone to support yet again 40 mins call, the guy told me I have to wait for the connection to drop one more time before he can proceed, ffs they have evidence of countless drops and now this.

I have spent countless hours reading forums and support pages trying to find a resolve for the F2000 and it's wifi problems and so far haven't found a solution anywhere other than replacing the unit or buying a wifi hub.

I doubt Eir support can help with the issue either as none of their cases appear to be resolved. I reckon it is up to the manufacturers Huawei, to fix the problem with a patch update.

But eir have confirmed the contracted work carried out 10 days ago fecked up the cabinet and there in is the issue yet they haven't fixed it yet.

Complaint made and reduction in my next bill sorted.
Eventually got the work done yesterday almost two weeks of stress,9 days of 13 having to go through the utter joke of calling eir support, close to 5 hours total repeating myself over and over, jumping through all sorts of hoops just to get a job done that took 20 minutes in the end.

Two guys here yesterday confirmed a screw up by contractors working on the cabinet,in the end I got moved to a new port and got a new modem [had to ask for that]
