Shower upgrade

I'm upgrading the shower in my old family home. Basically I want to replace the shower tray as the room was laid out as wheelchair accessible for my sister who passed away so I'm tackling 1 room at a time. Just to the right of the photo is a shower chair which will be removed..now on the other side of that wall (brick) I'm putting a washing machine and dryer and hoping to run the waste from the washing machine into the waste for the shower.
Question before I hack it out and replace it with a shallow ceramic one has anyone come across any issues like how do I dismantling the waste etc?
