Would normally wait until pay day and enjoy any surprise, but in this case I really need help as it will determine if I go to bank for loan as I have a hefty expense coming up this month! Any help is really appreciated.

Just back in work after a year out, began in April.

Basically I need to see what I am due this month with tax refund etc as it says on payslip i was tax basis E which I assume is emergency.

    1st months payslip info
    Basic (partial month) 3,562
    Taxable pay 3,562
    2817@std rate - 563
    745 @ high tate - 298
    Prsi - 142.50
    Usc - 285

Tax credits are 3,300 less dsp jobseekers 1,462 = net monthly tax credit of 250.67

Full monthly pay is 4,750 which is my gross this month.

    Can anyone figure it out?

    Thank you in advance.

How much PAYE was deducted? Was it the full €861 (563+298)?

Ok when I worked it out, assuming you're now on a cumulative basis, I got a figure of €5,176.98 for your next months pay which is made up of the following:

    Gross pay: 4,750
    Tax: -451.95
    USC: -165.03
    PRSI: 190

Below are my calculations on it.

    Cumulative pay to date: 8312 (3562 + 4750)
    Cut off point to date: 33,800 – 1,462 = 32,338 / 12 months * 5 months = 13,474.16
    Tax credits to date: 250.67 * 5 months = 1,253.35

    PAYE:
    8,312 * 20% = 1,662.4 less credits 1,253.35 = 409.05 tax due
    less tax already paid: 861
    tax refund due: 451.95

    USC:
    1st rate band: 5,005 * 0.5% = 25.03
    2nd rate band: 2,816.67 * 2.5% = 70.42
    3rd rate band: 490.33 * 5% = 24.52
    total USC due 119.97
    less USC already paid: 285
    USC refund due: 165.03

Thanks so much, really appreciate it. I did an accountant technician course back in the day and failed tax :)
