Hi just passed a guard doing about 105 with a speed gun on the dual carriageway just wondering will I get a ticket in the post or does he have to pull me . And also if he did want to pull someone would he just drive after them ??

he would more than likely follow you and pull you over if he had a speed gun. remember that your actual speed is a few Km per hour less than what your speedo says. You were probably doing 102 or 103 if even. The guard is probably only interested in >108 or more

He/she has to pull you in. Yes he would come after you if you were doing a considerable speed over the limit. It must have been a 100km zone you were in. I usually allow 10% over the limit as a general rule of thumb. all Gards are different but will allow for some variance and act with discretion.

You will not get a fine or points!

Just wondering the same happened me yesterday except I was on the motorway. Just wondering if they would have to pull me in or would I receive it in the post? I was doing about 131 in a 120 zone 😑

Should be fine if they didn't come after you. Some guards allow a few km over the limit. 131km on your odometer might not be 100% correct against your real speed vs the speed gun speed.

In my experience, the Garda with the detection device usually radios another Garda further up the road with a description of the vehicle and that second Garda waves the offending driver down.

OP - 105 on your speedo or GPS? As has been said speedos usually over-estimate speed to allow for different levels of tyre wear. 105 on a speedo is probably 95 in reality.
