We're in the process of getting an extension on back of the house. Although not originally planned, we've decided to get a small stove in the corner.

I'm wondering though, are there regs around where the flue can go? We've wooden rafters, already in place. Can a flue go up through the ceiling and out the roof?

I'd much prefer this then out the wall of the extension.

    Tia.

A twin walled stainless steel flue will do the job, don't forget to put a cowl on top

Thanks monsieur, that looks like it will do the job nicely!

I've to have a chat with the builder later, I just want to have a few things straight.

Is there anything I need to be aware of regarding the height of the flue ie smoke impacting neighbours?

You have nothing to worry about re. neighbours but if you are in Dublin city or similar urban areas you may have to use smokeless coal ........Think Mary Harney, smog etc. !!

Better to use smokeless in a stove anyway - they don't tolerate dirty fuel too well.
