    Hi Folks,

Well it looks like Filmon have finally pulled the plug of free SD UK channels as of May 1st. They have a subscription model for £15/month but can't see too many folks taking up that offer!

Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative service that provides similar functionality to FilmOn?

    Cheers

    JP

The web browser based version will work fine, a little more hassle to open up but does that job.

Actually it's the same - you get 2 mins "Trial" period then it times out and prompts you to subscribe.

Seems to be just the mobile app, unofficial Kodi add on is still working, windows 10 and web versions all fine. No way are they worth 15 a month for live TV on mobile when you can get most of that content on each stations apps free later.

are you sure? Have you let it run the full 2 minutes until it cuts out?

I was trying to watch the World Snooker final on Monday on BBC 2 and the Windows app stopped after something like 2 minutes. Went on the Web Browser app to see if it would work but it was the same. Really pissed off. No right to as it was always free. I think the windows app version linked me to something to subscribe to a podcast for 99c. I didn't bother as I had no idea if it would work.

Switched to Mobdro - not the best quality but can access all the UK channels (and more) for free :-)

Also Cyberghost (free VPN) works well for iplayer etc...

Try tvcatchup.com. Better quality than Film On and they have an android app too.

Pity about Filmon, was a nice a little app, especially as it had chromecast support.

    Free Palestine 🇵🇸

Mobdro is not bad. Doesn't work qutie as well as Filmon did though.

I have my pc connected to my TV so Filmon was great. I have no dish installed in my flat yet which is why I used it.

I am just experimenting with android on my pc. So I can use Mobdro on it. Working not so bad so far.

Found it great on the iphone app, don't think it's worth paying for though.
