Bosch Induction Hob Broken Glass

Had a bad day yesterday, dropped a tin of tomatoes onto my induction hob, and it smashed the edge of it
Its not even 2 years old yet
Its €95 for an engineer to come out out and just "look" at it, but I am just wondering if anyone else did anything similar, and what the outcome was?
Can they fix it? Just replace the glass? Is it expensive?

My one cracked last year through a pot hitting it hard and it was unreplaceable had to buy whole new unit (bosch)

Depending on size, if you do have to replace it I had an Ikea Folklig in my old apartment. Bought a Bosch last year when moving house for a much higher price but if I had to buy again I'd go back to the Folklig, I haven't found any advantage to the Bosch one over the Ikea one.

Mmmm.. the problem I have here is that its a brand new kitchen, and every other appliance we have is from Bosch and the OCD in me will want to keep it the same

if you get the ENR number off the hob and ring the likes of quinns or expertise in tullamore both on the net they will give you a price for a replacement top, as it is a fixed unit it may be possible to claim under your house policy but it will depend on the excess
