I just panicked and thought about customs, they are from the UK from a UK based seller, would customs have a problem with them?

if they are fakes and customs inspect the package then they will be seized.

That I know, lost things over the years from China, never ever had a package checked from the UK though. Just curious if they are less stringent with packages from the UK.

Didnt notice the UK bit. very unlikely to get checked by customs so. though given the quality of the knock offs they would be doing you a favour by seizing them.

I dunno,I would give it to you that 3-5 years ago they were sub par, but 'replicas' are very very good these days. http://imgur.com/a/8gDef

Thats if it is from the UK, more likely its a UK seller dropshipping so they may come from China.

OP- can you link to the seller on ebay? in the feedback people may leave stuff like this in the neutral feedback, i.e. they got the item but came from china, or got stung for customs.

She's 100% in the UK, a friend put me onto her, he's actually bought and collected stuff from her in person. I already got the tracking info and the package was shipped from Stoke.

Unless it's explicitly stated on the packaging that it's a replica then how would customs know?

the poor quality generally gives them away. and if customs are in doubt they get the genuine company to confirm. Most brands have a team dedicated to this.

I take this with a big pinch of salt, in most cases they go off of images sourced via online stores, well that's what they were doing on that Stop, Search, Seize program about irish customs on SKY

They open stuff at random, I have had stuff from china get confiscated and had other stuff get through with a letter asking me to pay VAT, in those cases all the items were replicas.

Someone selling them on Adverts.ie for €300 I guessed they were fake.

How much VAT were you asked to pay?

I see a lot of fake ones on adverts, charging more than retail prices...

    I think 23% - footware.

a general rule is if its too cheap to be true then its fake. But of course this is common knowledge so lads selling fakes can charge a lot so this "rule" is crossed off the buyers checklist.

I think he wondered how much actual money, was it based on the declared value what you paid. If they put a false value they would be entitled to check current values in shops and charge VAT on that value.
