New TV no English channels?

    Hi, i just bought a new LG smart TV with soarview/freesat. At minute only connected via aerial no satalite yet as cable isn't long enough. All I can get on TV is Irish channels.
    TV in other room has all English and Irish stations and is connect via aerial only. I did have to select UK in the other TV that's how I got them to work.
    Tried same on new TV and still only can get the Irish stations. When I select it as UK I finds 50 channels as a posed to 11 when I select Ireland but it just says invalid service.

    Any suggestions before I return it as only reason I bought it was my old combo box remote got lost so said id buy TV instead.

    Are you sure both TVs are fed from the same aerial, & why was a combo box previously being used where the new TV is going? Roughly what part of the country are you in?

    Anyhow, it's not the fault of the TV, so swapping it for another won't make any difference. The extra channels it finds in UK mode are Saorview 'test' channels, that are hidden when Ireland is used for setup.

    I plugged it into the room that I have the other TV in and retuned it and it's got all the English channels .
    Then I replugged it into the room I couldn't get them on and it's working fine now has all channels.
    Strange but it worked.

    is the other tv listed as freeview?
