Not sure if anyone else noticed but mass drop have a glycine combat sub quartz on rubber or nato for $99. I'm based abroad at the moment so customs not an issue. Is this a bargain that should be snapped up or would you bother? I have heard of glycine alright but don't know much about them but at that price, surely it's hard to go wrong? Any thoughts? I know you'd get s seiko for hat money easily especially Quartz but are these a step above...says it retails at 550 odd dollars which I don't believe but still....

Glycine have been bought by Invictus and since then appear to be offloading stock through outlets like Massdrop. As such, you can indeed get great value on a Glycine right now and $99 in particular would be a no-brainer if you like the look of the watch. All academic though given Massdrop do not actually have a Glycine for sale at the moment ...

Yeah it sold out quickly after I posted so missed the boat....no worries sure...they seem to pop up quite a bit but that one was particularly cheap as it was Quartz...autos have been closer to 500 bucks which I'm not sure I'd have the appetite for...would rather spend that on a hammy or tissot...

Possibly/probably silly question, but presume all these good are subject to customs and VAT? Or it it a 'buy and hope for the best' approach?

Buy and hope for the best. Seriously contemplating. Great value regardless of Invicta
