Tips for grass measuring

Hi folks, I'm up on 2.4 LU/Ha, have most of the farm reseeded and spreading fertiliser after every rotation. Anyway I think the time has come for me to embrace grass measuring. My rationale is that it will give me peace of mind during the shoulder periods to drive on and a reliable indicator when to take out paddocks during peak growing period. Any tips ye have on grass measuring would be appreciated, I'm thinking of the grass hopper.

First thing is to realise it's not an exact science. You don't have to be 100% right all the time and you'll go mad second guessing yourself trying to get it exactly right. Close enough is def good enough.

I have both the quadrant and the grass hopper. Use only the quadrant now. Grass hopper was taking 4times as long and wasn't great on ground anyway poached after the spring. Both ways just as accurate on even ground though

Do you know anyone who measures that would do a few walks with you to get you started? Quadrant and shears is what I use on a few paddocks most walks just to make sure I'm on track but its mostly eyeballing.

Most important part is to walk the farm every week. That will get you most of the way.
Will need help getting started, ideally be in a discussion group.
