    Hi folks,
Got a Mark 1 Ford Focus Ghia X with a water radiator leak.
Has been leaking slightly for some time, so I keep topping up.
Finally getting around to repairing it. However, the rad and a/c condenser are combined and cannot be split as in most models. This would mean getting the a/c drained, replacing the water radiator and then getting the a/c recharged.
Would it be worth trying Radweld at its alternative, something like Novastop or K-Seal.
My main concern here would be if it blocked up the heater matrix, as I would always be able to keep a close eye on the coolant level and if its dropping I would 'bite the bullet' and replace the rad.
Second-hand rad is about €40, but these type are difficult to source.
    Coolant €20
Drain and recharge A/C around €120

    Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

From exoerience radweld doesn't work long term, it'll seal it for a week or two but ultimately the leak reappears. Just get it replaced, it'll save a lot of bother in the long run.

    Thanks for reply.
Actually, I was only considering using a sealant as I intend keeping the car and I could always keep an eye on the coolant level. Wouldn't sell it with a dodgy rad, but i'll take your advice and replace it. Easy enough job but do I need a 'professional' to drain the A/C gas.?

    Not Your Ornery Onager

Worth your while trying Novastop, imo.

Heard its far superior to radweld as it claims it doesn't block up the heater matrix.
