Language use in boxing fans predictions

I have a read through boxing forum from time to time and was just reading through this weekends big fight thread.

Why do boxing fans always say 'I think Joshua wins' or 'Wlad wins' in reference to something that hasn't happened yet? I don't see it in other sport. In football/rugby etc. it's 'I think Ireland will win'

I have even seen it in hypotethical match ups, like Tyson v Joshua that will never happen. 'Tyson wins every time'

Just something annoying my OCD brain. Is there a reason for it or just something that crept in and has become commonly accepted.Maybe it's correct language, I am not sure.

    What are you talking about?

The absence of the word, will?

Wins v will win for a match that is taking place in the future. I would say will win myself.

Wins v would win for a hypotethical match that is not going to take place.

Just the tenses. Bit of a nerdy question to be honest. Only ever saw it in relation to boxing. Never saw it in anything else, sport or otherwise.
