Return of income letter for 2015

Hi there

I don't know if anyone else got this. I rang the revenue and they said they pick people at random.

So last night I received a letter from revenue regarding my failure to file return of income for 2015..

It states I previously advised you (to which I previously received nothing) to prepare and deliver a 2015 return of income blah blah. Furthermore the revenue are in receipt of information which suggests you had activity in 2015 that obliged you to return a file.

I am completely confused on this one, all I can think was I did a once of job as a nixer obviously I filed that straight away.

Then there was some messing with changing jobs I ended up owing tax as I was underpaying but that's all sorted well so I thought..??

I rang the revenue and they weren't able to give me much information just to make a return on anything you received other than normal wages

Any advice or info on tis would be most helpful. I was a bit freaked out receiving the letter, obviously I though my tax was in order

As they said, it may be totally random that you got this. A certain percentage of the population is picked randomly by the computer system and issued with returns.

May be nothing more sinister than that
