Does it forget the radio stations?
If it does the switched 12v and the permanent 12v are mixed up.

Swap the orange and red wires i think.
But if you have a multimeter test them first.

    What stereo did you get?

Ya it has stations and I heard online about switching wires. How exactly do I switch them? Never done anything like this before.

Try uplugging the black connector and putting it back in at 108 degrees
(the connector with the red and orange wires)

Can I just pull the wire out and push it back in again?

I'd say rotating the block connector as Random suggested will be a lot handier.

The connect can only go in the way I have it stuck in! You cannot rotate it!

Can you post a better picture, specifically of the red, orange and yellow cores ?
It's normally the red and yellow that you swap and they normally have a plug connector on both colours so they can be easliy swapped.

Maybe something to do with this wire?

I can see a label for can bus on the loom, this is probably the problem.
Do the instalation instruction give 2 options 1 for with canbus 1 without ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 276 ✭✭RandomUsername

Does that label say "No canbus disconnect this cable "
    Try it with it disconnected

Just to be clear this is the block connector that needs to be reversed, it looks like can be reversed from the picture.

There is no install instructions just a small printed book showing how to set your stations and use the Bluetooth etc

Would you be interested in selling your old radio? What condition is it in? The buttons on mine are peeling and look awful.

A quick Google shows that your car has can-bus this means there will not be an ignition wire at the back of the stereo you'll need to run a (fused) cable.
