All Irish line up led by Sherlock star Andrew Scott for The Late Late Show this week

The Late Late Show is keeping things homegrown this week with a host of Irish names on the bill.
Sherlock star Andrew Scott will join Ryan Tubridy in studio to talk about his new Irish film, Handsome Devil.
He'll be joined on the sofa by director John Butler and they'll discuss the inspiring message behind the movie and what the marriage equality vote meant to them. Scott no doubt won't escape without sharing a few snippets on Bond and Sherlock.

Elsewhere, journalists Owen Conlon and Stephen Breen will discuss the Kinahan clan's feud with the Hutches. They'll reveal how Christy Kinahan, from a respectable north Dublin family, ended up overseeing a global crime cartel worth over ?750 million and will explain why this feud could prove to be their downfall.

RTE star Katherine Lynch will also appear to talk about the past year which saw her on Operation Transformation and Dancing with the Stars. Also, 50 years after his death she'll pay tribute to her grandfather, poet Patrick Kavanagh.

Some of Ireland's newest citizens will also be in studio to share their stories while Barry Devlin of Horslips fame will guide viewers through some of the most iconic Irish TV ads as restored by the IFI Film Archive.

Also, the winner of the Junk Kouture fashion competition for second school students will be showcase their design in studio and music will come courtesy of our Eurovision representative Brendan Murray who will sing Dying to Try and Jesse Heffernan.

Christ that'd be a poor line up for a TV3 afternoon show let alone a flagship talk show and national institution. Did the production staff just do a bit of a ring around for 30 minutes yesterday and then get back to having a chat like they were doing for the rest of the week?

Wow a LLS thread opened this early, what is happening :P

For anyone who has seen Handsome Devil, Scott is the weak link, totally ott performance, I think his best role was in Sherlock, would prefer the two young film leads who are great be on with the director

Ah, me aul' pal Katherine Lynch bringing it full circle. An RTE 'star' being interviewed about taking part in 'celebrity' shows for failing celebrities. Has she no book ffs?

Gangland; I wonder will they make the link between the social D4/Montrose drug user and how their money goes to the same people that are feuding?

..and old ads....'member?' 'yeah I 'member'.

I tried access them during the week but the website was gone Pete Tong, they should have instead took the hard work out of the bandwidth end of things and stuck the lot up through a Youtube channel, would make a few bob in the process with ad revenue.

    Have they been eradicated?

Dubliners doing a Bass ad, they must have been in some major row with Guinness over something to do that.

It's funny how some of the most simple ads are the most memorable.

Is there a ban in place on bringing your knitting in to the LLS to do when it's boring like in the olden days on the show?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,741 ✭✭✭✭Ally Dick

Was Barry trying to draw a disgusting comparison between Miriam and milk? Hmmm

He was so funny. A bit before my time, but i've seen loads of repeats. I wasn't overly mad about the sketches although some of them were very good, but his stand up routines were sublime.

    Genuinely Miriam!

Shocked to see that that Agneta from ABBA platinum blonde hair on Miriam, isn't really real. Who knew?

"Come back and see us again sometime"

Something that has never been said to Tubridy ever.

    Good evening.

Routines were brilliant, best i remember is when he went to church as a child, explaining telling the time to a child, and going to the supermarket, all just brilliant

The money stuck under a car wheel sketch is just priceless to, still as good as anything you'd see now
