Commercial Minivan Project

I've been dreaming of having a "hippy" van for longer than I can remember. I finally got my drivers license and I think it time to give it some real thought.

Background: 18 year old doing LC rightnow, going to Art College next year with a part time job. I have money but not anything that could get me a brand new VW T2. I'm understand I couldn't hope to get insured on a vintage veichal till I'm 25, so I'm starting a Minivan project now! So I'm starting now.

The Ideal modal is the VW T2 Bay Window, but to be realistic, and I'd be happy with a less iconic modal.

If anyone has advice is what to look out for when buying used minivans, or their own personal experience and mistakes I'd be happy fo hear, or ever where is the best place to start looking? Any help is appreciated.

It all depends on what you want it for.
Do you actually want to travel & overnight in it? Have you any pastimes, hobbies or sports activities that you participate in that would require or benefit from owning your own wagon??

I'd be using it for mainly beach, camping and to travel 'n' overnight in it. I also was cansidering putting a perminant rack on it, either one on the roof for my kayak, or ath the back for a bike, but I'd like to have a door on the back so the roof rack is more likely.

What I'd be looking for in you're situation would be a fiat 900 pandora. There has been a couple pop up on DoneDeal for reasonable money lately.
