Buying business equipment on adverts/done deal

Hi there, quick question. Is it possible to buy equipment for a business off a private individual on adverts.ie or donedeal and then write it off / deduct tax as a business expense?

As long as you get a receipt from the vendor, then yes. I would also make a receipt a condition of sale.
