I was doing some IT work in a expert electrical a while back ,I was looking at a different model Sony TV with android and i was able to install Kodi on it and then installed the Beast build as well . it all seemed to work fine , but keep in mind it didn't get to test it too extensively

Yes, I have a Sony Android TV for the last year or so. Regular version of Kodi on the Play store, install it from there. Add-ons can be installed as normal.

+1, installed and add-ons work 100% as expected, but note that I can't seem to stop Kodi updating automatically so when the Kodi crew bring in DRM (copyright software) the add-ons may die.
Android TV works very well, albeit a tad slow as all Sony higher end models tend to be

just one thing on this tv from research.
the 49 inch model is different to the 43 inch model in that the 49inch one has an IPS panel. (the 43 has a VA panel)
this gives good viewing angles (good for big rooms where people may be watching from the side) but it also means that the black levels are not as good as the 43 inch one.
VA better for dark rooms. IPS black levels not as noticable in a bright room. but in a dark room IPS will look gray.

Have the kd438099 model and really like it

The google app store doesnt have much choice of apps but you can install other apps through usb(apk files) and alternative Android app markets etc. The build in google cast is handy for a number of apps. Picture is very good

Unfortunately the price of ultra hd 4k blu ray players are through the roof atm so didn't test a 4k bd yet

The Xbox One S has a 4K Blueray Player in it. You could get a 500GB for around €230-€250 if you keep an eye out in Argos/Smyths as they regularly have them discounted.

in fact the black levels of this 49inch one don't look that good at all. nice tv but if you like good contrast not the best. HDR only works well with high brightness (nits) and a good contrast ratio - many people just tick it (HDR) off as a buzzword but there is more to it than that.
