any recommendations for an american fridge freezer?

Hi - my Hotpoint/Indesit fridge/freezer packed up after less than 3 years of service, with loss of a packed freezer full of food .. so looking to buy a new one. But definitely not a Hotpoint.

Although I know now that they are just not built to last like they used to - I had a Whirlpool side-by-side fridge/freezer previously which I bought in the USA, it lasted me over 15 years - it was wonderful, I loved it!

I want to get an American fridge/freezer again, preferably less than €1000, I just can't justify a spend higher than that .... any recommendations out there?

I had settled on this Samsung one ..
    https://www.expert.ie/products/home-appliances/fridge-freezers/american-fridge-freezer/samsung-rs53k4400sa-eu-american-fridge-freezer

... as it comes with a 5 year warranty (incl a 10 year compressor warranty). And has the water/ice dispenser that I love.

AND I can buy it from a local retailer and not one of the major chains (who are anonymous and dismal when it comes to Customer Service).

However, I am after reading several threads here on boards.ie with regard to Samsung ... albeit older models... so having 2nd thoughts about it now.

    TIA!

Fridges don't tend to go super quick unless some drastic problem or poor installation. Make sure the fridge has breathing space to the rear and to the top or you will get the same problems from the next one.

Sometimes however the American ones can be a bit of a mugs game as if one side goes fridge or freezer the whole thing is dead.

So you may just check out tall seperates fridge and freezers they look the same as American when they are pushed together
