so registered a calf today and got the following error, "The registration cannot proceed as there is another birth registered to this dam less than 290 days

before the date of birth provided on this registration. If you have provided the incorrect dam tag

number or date of birth please supply the correct information."
let the registration slip a bit last year on one animal, between waiting on tags and dealing with the passing of my dad. was registering animals away when they calf not paying attention to dates and I got this today.
says to correct the dates/dam etc or contact the dvo to correct this.
anyone been through this? what should I expect when I contact them tomorrow?
    thanks,

contact your DVO to resolve the position

So calf is registered at 280 days or something close to that after last year's calf

Maybe you made a mistake with the mother so !!

The form allows you put down a different mother . Maybe you have a cow that not did not calf this year and not in calf. That might be the mother !!!

And this is why people are worried about the food chain.

It's funny that most of the major food scares occur after the food has left the farm.

What happens if the cow and calf are picked for DNA test.

Not registering the right calf to the right cow with half reasonable dates leads to a pure mess down the road, between remembering what lies you had to make up for and euro stars and just rooting your better off keeping things right.

Mod note: I think we'll lock this one up lads and ladies. A mistake was made with a calving date and the OP is sorting it out.

    Thanks for the replies,
