Best roads, gaps and passes to drive in Ireland

I'm looking for roads to drive. Particularly ones that are somewhat complex and just outright fun to drive on. Something similar to rally routes or that of Healy's Pass and Gap of Dunloe. Twistier the better.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

Probably better suited to the motoring forum, tbh.

More looking for roads, not tracks

Not really, most passes are attractive spots to visit.

I always love driving between Kenmare and Killarney by Molls Gap.

I always love driving between Kenmare and Killarney by Molls Gap.

It's currently closed on the kenmare side till after the rally of the lakes this weekend. Great drive on the Killarney side.

R254, Donegal. Quiet and beautiful scenery.

The Antrim coast roads. Great for the passengers - the driver doesn't really get to enjoy the views!

I did the Gap of Dunloe/ Black Valley into Molls Gap( lunch stop a Avoca) and Killarney a few weeks ago....was a super drive.

Dont let the Jarveys stop you driving past Kate Kearneys Cottage into the Gap...Its a public road.

I enjoy driving those roads :)

This bit of R755 north of Rathdrum is a roller coaster - the humps are crazy so I recommend driving it once with caution, and another time faster :pac: :D Unfortunately streetview doesn't look as impressive as real-life.

This stretch of R759 east of Sally Gap with stops overlooking the classic Lough Tay (Guinness Lake).

Post this question on the cycling board and you will get a lot of great options!

There are two incredible passes near Kilgarvan. I think the first one is called the Coomhola Pass and the other is the Priest's Leap. I have cycled them more than I have driven them but the two roads and the views are out of this world and nobody seems to know anything about either of them. That whole area of West Cork and Kerry between that is off the main tourist route makes for really interesting driving (and cycling). The towns are mostly Gaeltacht and you can drive for hours barely pass another car.

Especially the Torr head drive - change of underwear time.
