Hi I'm just wondering about wild camping on Lough Ree. Does anyone know if it's allowed? Was thinking about Inchmore. Obviously I would be cleaning up after myself. Will want to have a small BBQ also. Any help or info would be great

I'm pretty sure it's not allowed. Open to correction, but I'd say to be sure before you do it.

Presumably its privately owned? Most lake islands are. On google earth its covered in fields. There is a chance that someone nearby would know the owner, and if they could be contacted they might give permission. Sadly insurance issues have made landowners much more reluctant to facilitate visitors in recent years.

One overnight on an island or something else?
