BTEA - increases and my job

    Hi there,

So I started college in Sept. 2015 on BTEA. I got the weekly rate (€160) minus means I had from part-time work and was on casual dockets over the summer, the x and o system. Since I applied in 2015, my part-time work hours during term time aren't taken into account as means, so basically I can work as much as I like over the year and get the same allowance every week.

Now, I'm going into my 3rd year in September and by the time I go back, I will be 25. Actually, I will be 25 next month. I know the rate of jobseekers goes up to €147 or thereabouts when one turns 25 and I know that my BTEA Payment can't be any less than my jobseekers payment would be, so, therefore, my BTEA has to either be this, or anywhere up to the full new amount of €193.

Problem is - I just got a new job today and need to bring in my P45 to the dole office to update them. Do I need to inform them of my new employment details or just bring in the p45 and say nothing? I won't need to go back on jobseekers this summer since my new job is full time, so I won't need to bring in my casual dockets. But, I think since I'm on BTEA, I need to do the casual dockets over the summer? Will I need to re-apply for BTEA as a new applicant if I don't go on jobseekers over the summer? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, because I have no idea on this. My local office never pick up the phones, they haven't all day.

I am very confused. My post is also quite confusing. Anyone got any ideas on what I need to do?? Thanks ;)
