Anyone got a gpx of Irish public charge points?

Try this - I think the link will expire in 48 hours though.

Basically you can download the current charge point map in KML format here.

Then you can use an online KML -> GPX converter like this.

This stuff is readily available for pretty much all countries on the continent, but I can't find an Irish one.

I've emailed ESB e-cars already, will share whatever answer they come back with.

Does the Ioniq not have a full listing? The Leaf has the ability to download/update the map with charge points. The Ioniq surely has that?

It does have what seems to be a full listing (you can select the charger type yourself from a list of about 30 different types), but for some reason some CCS combo chargers are missing. Dealer will do a free update of all firmware / software / maps etc. but only once a year during annual service. Would like to find out if I can do this myself :)

Nav has a function to import POI on gpx file from USB slot, so will give that a go!

Any luck? Might give this a go if it works. It's extremely frustrating that the car cannot update the nav POIs over WiFi - Would have expected the charge points at the very least.

But are they working on something like this and improving the app in general?? Their App takes ages to load and always defaults to Chademo
They could take partnership with PlugShare :-)

unkel explain in plain English what you try to achieve? import charger information exported from some other source to IONIQ's SatNav as POI?

The solution is the demise of car specific closed navigation and info tainment , not trying to accommodate it

Don't see how hard it can be given that the "live"
    data is hosted at https://esb.ie/ECARS/kml/charging-locations.kml

I'm blaming Hyundai - The data is there from ecars but they are not interrogating it.

is any car company , I think not. Car infotainment is in the dark ages. Carplay etc is the way forward , your in car lcd display should be really just a mirror of your smartphone

problem is that this infotainment can only show certain apps which Google (in Android case) chooses to pick as compatible. Correct me if I am wrong here. There is only handful of apps which run through Android Auto. Waze is not even supported.

Just tried importing a .gpx with all the CCS FCPs, the satnav identifies the file but when I tap to import it fails.

Maybe the data in the .gpx is in the wrong format. I'll try clean up the data a bit more tomorrow and try again.

ecars-ccs.gpx - If anyone else wants to try.

I manually changed your gpx file (thanks for that) to only have CCS (also did the conversion myself with the program you linked to, just to see was it working), stuck it onto a USB stick and imported it into the Ioniq. It said imported ok. But not sure / don't think they are part of the POI system now, ran out of time to check further

Before I did that I exported Satnav addresses to USB and it exported ok too (could read the files on my PC)

So reading between the lines - mope / thelikelylad - your Ioniqs don't have some / all CCS chargers either even though you're on the latest version of nav / software???

I'd love to play with what you are trying here myself and help out or at least provide feedback, but have little to none time to sit in the car for even 20 min when not driving it. I am not sure about what is missing what is not, but on one of the threads I mentioned that some Chargers are Brown, some Green and not sure if this is because they are displaying from within different area of Map itself (one being from Map and the other from within EV menus where it displays range you can make).

I am closely monitoring this topic here to see if I can help out when possible

I don't think mine has any CCS FCPs in the satnav. Some FCPs do show up on the map but I think that's due to the Type2 connector on the FastAC plug there. Ballycolla/Ballacolla FCP for example is not on the map. Maybe if I add CHAdeMO to the filter it will be there.

I doubt I have the latest nav/software version though as the car was built in November I think. Can you share the .gpx you imported on yours? :)

Does the nav memorise the chargers once you have plugged in them? That way you can gradually build up the charging points as you call them. In Nissan the charging points are updated from the "information centre" over the data connection, maybe there is something similar on your cars?

    Did not notice this happening...

That is something unique to the leaf for the moment.

It's just the file shared by yourself above, but with all other chargers taken out and only the ccs left in. I've attached it. It did say imported ok, but I can't find where they went in the Ioniq. Definitely were not added as charge points.

yes its a pity the user cant remove the phantom ones, in this day and age closed systems are just ridiculous

anyone hacked into the map SD ?

There is a guy on one of Facebook groups which made all SCP and FCP available on your Google maps. They are visible even when you are in Android Auto. Very handy if you cruising around Ireland :)

I think I was looking at these a few weeks back but now I can't find them again. Link? :)

    All chargers - https://www.google.com/maps/placelists/list/1Mbbu_ZUPzDNV8Xlqdpal9FZAK_s

    FCP only - https://www.google.com/maps/placelists/list/1O5v-_YEmQ-AOEDJ9ah4bQPzSYCI

    Try this.

Funny, works only from my phone. Under my places - saved.
Unless my work Proxy is blocking it

Basically after you click on these links it integrates to your Map. Then you go to "My places -> Saved" and select "hide" or "unhide" the one map you want. From then all CPs (the ones you selected) are visible on your Google Maps. Even when in Android Auto.

This is more for dedicated Garmin Satnav owners. Sharing here with the community my POI files for all Charge points in Ireland, at least that I know of.

The link below is to a folder on my Google Drive cotaining POIs for Ecars, Tesla, Nissan, LIDL & Other CPs which I hope to keep updated over time. The files are in both GPX and Garmin specific GPI format. I prefer to use the GPI files which can simply be dropped into the POI folder on the Garmin satnav and contain custom symbols icons.

    MyDrive - POI https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bRZvEIo1MF5zd8SczZReYIjKDOLeDhf0?usp=sharing.

I recommend that you first click the List view tab to the right of DOWNLOAD ALL at the above link. You can then see and download the individual files that interest you. Otherwise if you click either of the 2 main folders Google will try to create a zip file which seems to takes ages.
