Would this do to spray mortox 50 or dicophar on 1 acre site?

I'm tall so see the extendable lance as very handy

I can't get into your link..but one bit of advice buy a 16 litre one...I bought a 20 litre one a number of years ago and it's very hard on the back (when full).

Did you use yours for such a big area? How long would one acre spraying take me?

go the whole hog and get one of these

your back will thank you for the rest of your days and it's a pleasure to use

get the right spray width nozzle eg 2mtrs and you won't be long at an acre

you can get DOnethat dye which shows you where you have sprayed ~20e for 500ml, need very little in a knapsack

Just bought it for general use really...i never did a whole acre ...it might take some time at a rough guess 45 minutes..it will depend how near you are from the tap...would you you not be better off getting a contactor or farmer with a tractor sprayer ...only take a few minutes plus you would be certain you got all the area covered?

Do you have a ride on lawnmower? Could a quad sprayer be fitted on it?

I do but the only sprayer I can find with a mount to hold the sprayer is €375. Too expensive for the amount of times I will use it every year

No doubt but a knapsack would do an acre. It's a bit of a job though. I've an acre here I sprayed. I think, from memory, it took 7 fills of the knapsack to cover it.
Have someone with you to mark it out in sections so you'll cover it all it.
There was a time we used to sow half an acre of spuds and we'd spray them every week or ten days for blight with a knapsack.

For selective spraying weeds in a lawn and providing your back is in decent shape just go with the napsack sprayer.

Make sure to have a nice fine mist, walk at an even pace and move lanse over and back before you covering over-back with each step.

Something like a wheelie bin is a good height to stop and let down the tank on when refilling as there's no lift afterwards, over a number of fills that makes a big difference.

When your done keep an eye and maybe in 4-6 weeks go again hitting any areas you missed first time round.

Remember all selective sprays work on the principal that grass is the only thing they don't kill. So beware round flower beds, shrubs and hedges as they've easily eradicated with selective sprays.

Thanks for all your replies - much appreciated. What selective weed killer would you suggest best for a lawn?

Also for spraying ditches at side of lawn which has quiet s few nettles

You need Nettle-ban for nettles, most other sprays don't affect them.

    Grazon again does nettles too

Yep. Did three knapsacks yesterday of grazon mostly on nettles. 16litre knapsack thought 3rd one would never empty

I use it under electric fence wires. It doesn't kill the grass just the weeds

Decided to go with this. Middle of the road. Hopefully I made a good choice:

Grazon is a great spray for nettles and brambles as they're tough.

I think for a lawn mcpa would be a good broad spectrum weed killer, from memory it's considerably cheaper too.

Incidentally for anyone with mayrestail or horsetail problems I sprayed some last year with a Grazon 90 and mcpa mix and it totally wiped it out without killing grass although grass was stunted a fair bit.

D50 for a lawn would be ok as well

Looks good value, and comes with spares

These are the most common on Irish farms, but took at the price difference!
