    Hi,

We are going to Algarve in late May. The plan is to camp for a few days and then spend a few days in a nice hotel in Vilamoura or Albufeira.

Can anyone recommend a family hotel in Vilamoura or Albufeira?
    Which is the best town?

Stayed in the Hilton in Vilamoura which was lovely and had a couple of decent pools. There was a kids club on site. Accommodation was a very modern 3 bed apartment in the hotel complex. A little outside the town but hotel ran free shuttle bus to and from the town or a taxi was about 6 euros.

I haven't stayed in Albufeira so can't compare but I thought Vilamoura was nice as resorts go.

My sister is just back after a week in an apartment in Villamoura. On one of the days she and her husband got a bus to Albufeira to check it out, below is an account she sent me via txt message. This was on Saturday April 8th, the day of the Grand National and there would also have been Premier League football on TV ..........

Loads of pubs here in Albufeira, full of tattooed English fans shouting at TVs. Much better class of person in Villamoura!

It's the As Cascatas. We stayed in the apartments which allow you to use all the hotel facilities.
