Need to become incorporated to intern

    Hi all,

this summer I'll be interning from home in Ireland for a small biz in the US (am an Irish citizen). Setting up conventional intern contract is awkward for them so they've suggested I register as a self employed consultant - how long would it take for me to register, and are there any logistical(legal, tax) problems this could bring up?

Might be basic questions but I have no idea how this stuff works.

    Cheers

    Sounds like a scam.

Setting things up is quick enough. Doing the returns every month for tax and complying with Companies Acts are headaches.

nah the guy who'd be employing me is a friend - have been in their office and met them. Since it'd be only set up for three months and revenue would be less than €12k I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with tax and that bulk of regulatory stuff could be avoided
