Need advice on whether a poor battery warrants a replacement phone

I bought an Alcatel Pixi 4 4g with 6in screen from Argos for 159euros. I can't post a link to it as I'm a new user.

The battery is extremely poor and needs to be charged three times a day even though I don't use it intensively. It also takes 3+hrs to charge it.

I will need to replace it with another model. Does anyone know if a poor battery warrants a phone being replaced.

Can anyone recommend a phone. I'm looking for the best option in the 100-200euro price range in Argos.

Is the battery worse now than before?
I got a replacement phone from Google for the Nexus 6P for a battery issue. The phone would shut off anywhere between 60% and 10% remaining.
Google offered a replacement as the phone was less than 2 years old.

How long does it take to charge when turned off? What do your battery stats say is draining it when you're using it? Is the battery constantly draining even when you're not using it?

3+hrs, the screen 42%, Android System 15% and Chrome 9% are the main culprits.

I charged the pH last night before bed and turned it off. This morning the battery was down to 27%.
