I am on JA and I received an email from the Department of Social Protection informing me that my local area were running a Jobnet Programme. Anyone done it? What did you think of it? Was it a help?

Are you talking about the JobNet course that is run by JobCare on Lower Gardiner St?

I have just completed the 4 week long JobSeekers Course with JobCare (referred there by my DSP caseworker) and I can quite honestly say it was excellent! Such a confidence boosting program, you really learn how to sell yourself - figure out your skills, help on CV's, profile building, internal and external mock interviews, help job searching on & offline, networking, how to write cover letters, they even get you suitable interview clothes (to keep) if you want or need them etc. You name it they cover it and you have continued support and access to the resource room computers whenever you need it once the course is finished!

They also run a JobNet course, it is all about networking. It is very popular and from my experience from the JS course and from talking to people doing the JobNet course I would say take the opportunity. Actually, if you have the opportunity to do either/both take it!
